Is This a Problem And What Is The Cause
See the ripples to the left on the tablet press table? Is this normal?
Does this “just happen”? What is the cause?
Notice that we have a gravity style powder feeder but we cannot tell here if it is a 2 point or a 3 point feeder. Not
important really.
What is important is that this situation is likely caused by not squaring the feeder over the table. Might be as a result of
not knowing where the “high spot” is on the press. Then again, maybe the feeder is unevenly situated over the table.
Might be the scrapper blade is set too close. But the result is always the same: damage to the die table in the form of
ripples.

This damage is more cosmetic than a true press issue but be careful because one day, if we keep setting the press up
this way, real damage to the table will occur. Standardized operator training is the key, and do not rely “on the
mechanic”.
