At first glance this tablet press looks pretty normal. In fact, it looks very clean and well maintained. But
look again. See the knock off plate? What’s wrong here?
See the powder moving past the knock off plate? It seems like the plate is dividing the power into two
separate streams. This is a very serious problem for one of the streams is going into the drum of
finished goods along with the tablets. And what exactly is causing this? Well most of the time it is the
simple fact that there is too much powder in the feed frame. This is channeled into the center of the
press turret and recirculates back around into the feeder. But there is simply too much and the stream
is too wide. Never allow this to happen!
