Interesting Picture! What do you think happened here? I see this all the time in companies that are careless with their tablet press set up. And there is more than one root cause. What are we looking at anyway? Notice the lower right and upper left edges of this upper punch. See the damage? And this damaged was not caused by dropping the punch on the floor, it came from punch installation. Improper punch installation. When installing shaped punches you need to “twist” the upper punch inward so that when you run the press, and the centrifugal forces take over, the punch enters the die correctly. Possibly the die lock screw came loose and may have also caused this damage. Totally preventable. Fall is beginning! See you in India in October and in November!!! |
