Every once in a while, you run into a strange situation. In this case we saw two basic issues. This was in a 48” pan and the issue was uneven color between tablets coated from the same batch in the same pan. As you look into this photograph, you can immediately spot the problem. First of all, in many cases, only three guns in a 48” pan may be the issue. Sure, thank you, go away. But wait, there is more. Maybe they compounded the problem by using the wrong air cap (45 deg versus 60 deg) and further again, look at the gun geometry: two guns close together, the third far away. Understanding aqueous film coating does not just involve doing what the batch record says, it demands professional attention to what may NOT be on the batch record. Happy Oct 31st North America! |
