The Weigh Room:

The weighing area appears easy, boring and non-essential.
Many companies start new employees there thinking there is less damaging impact if something
goes wrong.

NOT SO FAST!

It is in fact the most important unit operation in correct tablet production. Errors are usually fatal;
may cause a recall. This area is the company’s primary defense against product contamination.

Therefore, before you even begin to weigh anything:
**     Verify room is approved for use.
**         You have correct paperwork.
**        Materials are sealed properly.
*Clean off any dust on drums, drum lids, bags.
**        Make sure you have enough equipment to do the job.
*Scoops, bags, ties.

Next make certain that you:
**        Verify that you have the proper safety equipment.
**         Bring in the materials and corresponding paperwork.
**         Verify materials are correct:
**         approved for use
**        exact match in name and type
**         have not expired. (retest date?)

So before you even begin the first weigh off, make sure you have engineered the weigh off to
produce product that is error free! Look at the picture below!
